Andreas For many people a holiday is a time to relax just lying on a beach or lazing by the pool but for some of us, we want to do a little more. You can often travel thousands of miles to another part of the world, and you might want to explore all that the location has to offer. Especially if you do not get to have this type of holiday often.
You can learn a lot about a culture of a particular country or group of people from studying historical places, sampling the local traditional dishes and mixing with the local people. Some may say that it is a bit of a waste to go all that way away from home and not get involved in exploring your surroundings but for others this may not be what they want from a holiday.
Spending time with the local people and seeing how they live their day to day life will allow you to get a true insight in to how they live, you may find that they can be extremely helpful and will advise you of areas to avoid and places that might be nice to visit for dinner or for a day of exploring.
