Although the majority of holiday makers visit the coast during the spring and summer months it is worth considering a visit during the autumn for a different yet still enjoyable experience.
During the autumn the costal towns and beaches are much quieter meaning that you can explore places much more easily and parking is no longer difficult. Some cafés and restaurants stay open through autumn and so there are usually plenty of places to eat out or enjoy a latte and slice of your favourite cake after a brisk walk along the beach.
As the sea can be quite wavy at this time of year it is a good opportunity to watch the expert surfers as they surf the crashing waves on their surf boards to everyone’s amazement. A dip in the sea may be something you enjoy but most people find that as the sea is quite cold at this time of the year a wetsuit may be beneficial.
Accommodation at the coast during the autumn months will probably be cheaper and more plentiful so look out for special deals. Pubs often have rooms above which are available to stay in which has the advantage of being able to enjoy a drink and a meal in the evening in front of a roaring log fire then simply climb the stairs to bed.
